AM INTERESTED IN ALL ASPECTS OF EXPRESSION AND CREATION.
Formerly involved in the theatre and in dance, my current figurative work in clay, drawing, painting and installation/performance explores the qualities of each medium used while dealing with issues of identity and the premises on which we base our social behaviour. Stylistically, influences include Realism, Symbolism, and Surrealism and philosophically, Existentialism and Phenomenology.

My professional practice as a visual artist has convinced me of the need for visual artists to adopt the same kind of direct relationship to audience that is proper to the performing arts. In view of this, I have concurrently practiced as a gallery curator in a number of not-for profit environments, and as an art educator in art centers as well as privately. I approach this work as a practicing artist, creating exhibition and learning experiences in which I sometimes risk and experiment as much as I ask ‘my’ artists and students to do.
